Uzodimma’s Reelection: Why Rochas Okorocha Removed me – Sir Jude Ejiogu

… eulogies Owerri North people
…pledges support to the party and Uzodimma’s Reelection
Former Secretary to the Government of Imo State, Sir Jude Ejiogu, has revealed that his removal from office during the regime of former governor Rochas Okorocha, was probably because of the grand reception the people of Owerri North threw in his honour in 2015, after his appointment as Secretary of the State Government.
Sir Jude Ejiogu made this known yesterday Saturday 3rd June, 2023, when the Emekuku/Emii bloc of the All Progressives Congress APC threw a grand reception in his honour, to welcome him back from his self imposed political leave of absence.
It can be recalled that the people of Owerri North on November 28th, 2015, threw a grand reception for Sir Jude Ejiogu, to express their confidence and pride in him.
The massive turnout of the people of Owerri North and revered leaders from across the state including Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, must have sent danger signals to the former governor, of the acceptance of Sir Jude Ejiogu by the people, which was a direct treat to Okorocha’s plot to install his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu as his successor, forcing him to remove the Emekuku born former banker and monetary economist from his cabinet.
Sir Jude Ejiogu had stepped away from the political scene for over three years after the 2019 General Elections, to pay attention to his family and numerous business concerns.
Addressing the massive crowd at his country home in Umuakuru Emekuku yesterday, Sir Jude Ejiogu, while commending Governor Hope Uzodimma for his numerous achievements across the state, revealed that he decided to step back into the ring, to ensure that those good works of the governor didn’t stop, by ensuring that Uzodimma returns for a second term in office, come November 11th, 2023.
Sir Jude Ejiogu, himself an APC Governorship aspirant in 2019 alongside Governor Hope Uzodimma, was instrumental to Uzodimma’s eventual emergence as candidate of the party and governor of Imo State.
Sir Jude Ejiogu, a founding member of the party in the state, assured the APC of his support and loyalty to the party and his commitment to the reelection of Governor Hope Uzodimma.
Other speakers at the occasion such as Chief Henry Njoku Harritex, the Owerri North APC Chairman, Hon. Kelechi Azubuike amongst others, expressed their joy and appreciation in the decision of Sir Jude Ejiogu to return back to active politics, stating that his absence had left a great vacuum and his presence has given the party added advantage to guarantee victory.
The occasion afforded hundreds of members of other political parties such as the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Labour Party LP amongst others, desirous to join the APC following Sir Jude Ejiogu’s reemergence to active politics, to openly declare their intentions and pledge loyalty to the party.
The Ward and Local Government Executive members had earlier paid separate courtesy visits to Sir Jude Ejiogu, welcoming him back to active politicking.
